Why one firmness? Simplicity. When your grandmother bought her mattress from us, we only offered one. Do we really need to make it more confusing?

Technical Stuff: (This is for the real mattress geeks! And, don't blame us if you get confused)
Natural Latex
- Three inches of natural latex in the pillowtop.
- 125 lbs per yd3 of natural rubber. (What? Ok, simply put a queen uses 38 lbs of natural latex)
- 20-25 ILD(Indentation Load Deflection). This is a measurement of firmness of the latex. Chances are, since you seem to be the inquisitive type, you might already know this.
- Six inches of natural latex in the base.
- 125 lbs per yd3 of natural rubber. (What? Ok, simply put a queen uses 77 lbs of natural latex)
- 30-35 ILD(Indentation Load Deflection). This is a measurement of firmness of the latex. Chances are, since you seem to be the inquisitive type, you might already know this.
- Manufactured using the Dunlop process.
- Manufactured in Sri Lanka
- Certified in accordance with Oeko-Tex 100. Assures you that the latex is free of any chemical substances which may have a negative affect on your well being.
- Most pure latex available. Free of any manmade synthetic latex.
- Want to get more technical? Well here you go… Latex is only natural in a liquid state. In order to take it from a liquid to a usable and solid state, all latex must be vulcanized. Therefore, a mixture of natural rubber (90-95%), zinc oxide (2-3%), fatty acid soaps (1-2%), sulfur (1-2%), and sodium (1-2%) is created which is essential for the vulcanization, foaming, and curing process. The finished core is then washed a minimum of three times to remove residuals that may be left over after curing. The finished product is approximately 98% natural latex rubber. (We could lie and tell you that it is all natural, if you want us to.)

Cotton Fabrics
- Made with organic cotton. Only the good stuff. Nothing else. No polyester, flame retardants or other synthetic materials.
- Inner fabrics are a 4.5 oz per yd2 canvas.
- Outer fabrics are a 5 oz per yd2 chambray that has been napped to provide a softer feel.
- Grown in Texas and New Mexico.
- Woven in the Carolinas.

- 20 oz per yd2 wool batting. So, a queen mattress has approximately 20 lbs.

Well… Actually, a mattress can assist you in feeling better by helping you sleep better, but it is not a panacea. There are other factors that are beyond a mattress’s control. Your sleep environment. Eating habits. Exercise. Which affect how you sleep and your body feels when it wakes up.
Wait, shouldn’t we over promise in hopes that you buy one of our mattresses and then tell you about it after the fact? You get stuck with the mattress and we make more money.

Better Living without Chemistry.
Have you ever taken a look at the ingredients on cereal you loved as a kid? Can you even pronounce them? It’s a wonder that we turned out ok. Well, look at the ingredients from some mattresses… Antimony. Styrene. Butadiene. Toluene Di-isocyante (TDI). Is it going to kill you? We don’t know, but would rather not risk it. So, we only use materials from nature that you can pronounce.
So Happy Together.
You love your partner, but not at three a.m. when your partner’s tossing and turning. The natural flexibility of the latex helps reduce it, but the only way to eliminate it is separate beds. Maybe not a bad idea?
Tempature

Wool wicks away the body’s moisture keeping you dry throughout the night, allowing you to sleep at an even temperature regardless of season. Other things to consider… or maybe a way to get you to spend more money.
Use protection… (mattress protection for those with a dirty mind.)
Mattresses get dirty. And, you sweat up to a pint a night. A mattress protector allows you to wash your sleep surface keeping your bed clean and reducing allergens.
Additional comfort.
It is easier to make a mattress softer than it is harder. Add a pillow top to your mattress for an additional layer of comfort. Don’t like ours. Try out some others…

It can be just as important as a mattress in helping you sleep better. Unfortunately, we only know the ancient art of mattress making. So, try out these companies…

Frames
Our mattresses are heavy and need extra support. A lot slats for bed frames don’t provide enough. So, we recommend checking out the Bedbridge™, the Bedbeam™, or the Lazarbeam™ from Knickerbocker. And, don’t worry we gain nothing by you buying one expect making sure your mattress lasts and doesn’t sag.

It’s a great alternative to a wood foundation and metal frame. Here are a few options…
